액션네트워크 “4월 미·중 정상회담 절호의 기회”

개방형 플랫폼 액션 네트워크(Action Network)가 4월 미중 정상회담을 앞두고 한머리땅(한반도) 평화를 위해 백악관 편지 보내기 운동을 전개하고 있다.

캠페인의 제목은 ‘트럼프 대통령에게 보내는 서한: 한반도의 항구적 평화를 위한 제언’으로 아래 웹사이트를 통해 참여할 수 있다.

캠페인 취지문에선 “한국전쟁은 1953년 정전 이후 70년이 넘도록 법적으로 종결되지 않은 상태로 남아 있다. 이제 더 이상 일시적인 휴전이 아닌, 항구적인 평화가 필요하다”고 강조했다.

캠페인은 “오는 4월 예정된 미·중 정상회담은 한반도 평화를 위한 외교적 돌파구를 열 수 있는 절호의 기회”라고 강조하고 트럼프 대통령이 한국전쟁을 공식적으로 종식하고 한반도의 항구적인 평화를 구축하는 데 결단력 있는 역할을 해줄 것을 촉구했다.

캠페인은 “전쟁이 아닌 평화를 선택하자는 우리의 청원에 많은 이들이 동참해 줄 것”을 간곡히 당부했다.
