Graduation : Æò»ý ¾È¿Ã°Í °°¾Ò´ø Á¹¾÷

The Dobbs Ferry High School graduation had finally arrived to mark both the end and a beginning. The fact that I would be graduating on this very day still had not hit me until I set foot on the grassy ground and approached my fellow classmates who were dressed in white and blue gowns.

Even when we began to line up to do our final walk down the aisle, every one of us was nervously chattering to each other, ¡°Can you believe we are actually graduating?¡± As the teachers did a final check of all the line-ups, my previous years at high school flashed by. It all felt too soon. Prom, graduation, just the entirety of senior year.

It felt like just yesterday that we had celebrated (and dreaded) becoming seniors and now, we were ready to depart from our high school. Before I could even process what was happening, the drums started rolling and the trumpets started to horn, initiating our graduation. Our feet shuffled nervously and each of us smiled at the applauding audience.

It was an eerie feeling; I felt as though I was walking on air, and started to beam when I saw my family and friends cheering me on. From then on, I continued to be wrapped in this daze and have faint recollection of what the actual graduation was like.

All I had in my mind were thoughts of how I was actually graduating, and sentimentalities regarding the past and the arriving future. It was both exciting and scary to think about the ¡°next chapter of our lifetime,¡± as our principal had pointed out.

When the final speech was delivered and diplomas were handed out, I ran to my family and hugged them. They had always been there for me and they were my biggest supporters. When I had doubts about myself, they gave me the confidence to move forward and take chances. I sincerely felt so lucky to have such a caring and loving family, and I knew I would never forget the endless support they had provided me with.

Tears started to roll down when I saw my closest friends run to me with their arms wide open. These were tears of relief, happiness, and also sadness. We had dealt with the terrifying process of college applications, the excitement of finally being a licensed driver, and the exciting privileges of being a senior such as prom.

As we gathered around for a final group picture, I realized how each and every one of us belonged to this closely-knit circle but still carried individuality. It felt good to belong and be different at the same time.

I feel confident that my classmates and I will succeed in their future endeavors and continue to live a bold, proactive life facing and overcoming challenges. As cliché as it sounds, this would not be the end for us; it would be a grand new beginning.
